An hour passes after lunch and hubby and I are craving something sweet! It’s an automatic craving! But no worries, we are always prepared. We usually have healthy snacks in our pantry like trail mix, applesauce, organic peanut butter, and dried fruit. Not to mention, our refrigerator is stocked with strawberries and grapes, and our fruit basket has apples and oranges to the rim. That’s preparation!
Today we decide we want a smoothie. So I used 3/4 cup of almond unsweetened milk, 1 1/2 cups of blueberries, and about 8 big strawberries. I added in 1 banana, and 1 cup of yogurt to get the smoothie creamy and blended it all together! This made 3 servings and it was an amazing healthy smoothie! Yay! Usually I add in 1/4 cup of oatmeal and some ice and it gives the smoothie a different texture. I love it! If you are making a smoothie for the first time, I recommend that you start with fruits that are most appealing to you and that have the most flavor and taste. I’ve tried making smoothies with oranges and apples but I didn’t like the texture too much. I usually stick to berries (frozen or fresh), bananas, yogurt, apple juice, oatmeal, and milk for my sweet smoothies. Just like this one in this post:) Happy smoothing!!
